Need an opinion on tokays

antonm Jul 13, 2004 12:53 AM

I have 2 male tokays living together who seem to have become good friends. Ingo has told me that this is common though I'm still somewhat worried that when breeding season hits there may be trouble (with no disrespect to your knowledge of course ingo, just paranoia). I have finaly found a suitable home for the other male (my friend has offered to take it and provide it with a 60 gallon). I'm wondering what you guys would be better for my tokay, to keep his friend, or to give his friend to another home and get him a female to mate. I'm not sure how attached he is to this current one so I just wanted an opinion from you guys on what you think would be best. Thanks!

If you have any doubts concerning their interactions, exchange the second male for a female.
But then expect a longer period of frequent calls if the animals felt bonded to each other.

Ingo
