Hi,
You have a nice V. griseus there - North Africa- western Sahara side of Africa?
They get alot bigger than that! Record is ~1200 mm total length which is considerable for this species...
You will enjoy the Dennis King/Eric Pianka book on V. griseus written by Dr. Michael Stanner who REALLY KNOWS V. griseus, having studied them for 25 years or so in the field = an amazing species...and most unique among Varanidae...
