This weekend, May 17th and 18th, NJHS will be at the Liberty Science Center:

Our May meeting will be taking place at the one and only Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ as part of the museum's first annual "Reptile & Amphibian weekend". Please join us as 3 of our very own members will share their expertise & give some exciting speeches on various herp-related topics. If you've never been to the museum please plan on spending the day.

The lecture series will be but a small facet of the many acitivities going on at the museum throughout the weekend (Sat May 17th & Sun May 18th) from 9:30 to 4:30 pm. Along with our featured speakers the museum will be hosting some fun reptile-inspired arts and crafts and a series of informational tables with representatives from organizations such as the EPA, Pinelands Alliance Association, Tewksbury Herpetological Organization, Scales & Tails reptile rescue, and of course NJHS plus many more.

Throughout the day the LSC Animal Husbandry Interpretive Staff will be offering a series of presentations on various herp taxa which will include live animal demonstrations!

Our "official" meeting day will be on Sunday May 18th starting at 11:00 am when we will kick off the NJHS lecture series featuring Eitan Grunwald who will share some of his mind-boggling pictures from his many adventures herping around (and out of)the country. Also presenting that day will be Dr. Warren Briggs who will share some of his experiences as an exotic herp veterinarian here in South Jersey, definitely not to be missed. And last but not least we can explore herpetoculture on both a zoological and hobbyist level with our very own Ed Kowalski of the Philadelphia Zoo!
