but feeding them off the good china????LOL

Don't worry I don't papmper them that much. The bowl that you see in the picture is a rabbit bowl. Sometimes we feed them off nice plats though. They are part of the family so I don't see why they shouldn't benefit aswell and get luxuries.

What is that you are feeding her? Looks kind of like a dog food mix.
They look great, and very happy as well. I used to feed my male Columbian B&W dog and cat food because his jaw was broken at an early age. Looks yummy!

It is cat food. He seems to love it. Don't worry we only give it to him as a treat, and not that often. He is lovely and he is getting so big. The two in that picture are brother and sister. If I breeded them would it cause a problem, and is it ok that I keep them in the same cage?? The male is almost twice the size of the female.

First generation inbreeding should not be a problem. Many monitors have been bred in such fashion with no apparant problems. In fact, raising littermates together from day one is a good way to ensure compatibilty. But of course, genetic diversity is better.
Yes, you should keep them together if your purpose is breeding. You can't do much about the size difference. You could give her more food than the male if you think he is hogging all the food.
Dave
No, she is just as greedy as he is. The reason they are such different sizes is because we got the female later than the male because we didn't want to get two at once, but the pet shop only fed them like every 4 days and we feed them nearly everyday. How long do you think it will be before they are breeding and is it hard to do so?? They are around 4 or 5 months at the moment.

Stella at www.bluetegu.com says sexual maturity for Arg B/W at 18 months.
My guys are young too so the verdict is still out on how hard it is to breed...from what I hear, they are quite prolific.
Dave
what does prolific mean. Are you going to try breeding them?? I think I might. Because they have amazing pattern and good personalities and eating habbits.

I hear that if given the right conditions, they will breed readily.
When I was younger, I used to keep one of every species I could get my hands on...now I always buy pairs so that I can learn from them as I attempt to provide the right environment for them to breed...but most of all, I try to have FUN.
Good Luck,
Dave
