Tree frog foods

I know they eat crickets but what ells can I feed them. The tank I have planed has a great deal of water in it so crickets seem like they would just drownd and beverry hard to keep the tank up. Will they eat bloode worms like newts? Thanks for any help.

Most tree frogs will eat crickets, flies, moths, meal worms and such. I don't think you will have much luck with blood worms since Tree frogs require nothing more than a small water dish to soak in. Having too much water in the tank with them could prove fatal. They don't swim and can easily drown. You may want to re-think your set up for them.

You could try either hand feeding them by placing the cricket in front of the snout, and wiggle it, or putting them in an empty encloser, such as a small plastic "Critter Keeper" or "Fawnarium" and offer food in that. They can eat meal worms, but are a bit more fatty than crickets, and should only be fed as a treat. Earthworms and pinkies are good for large frogs as a treat as well. Good luck!
