Gpoop Jul 13, 2004 01:49 PM

Can I feed can 'O' Crickets to a bearded dragon instead of live crickets along with veggies and rep-cal pellets.?

Pogo seems to love them....I use these in addition to live crix and waxworms, and salad with Greens, veggies, and T-REX VMF Dragon Dust.....Just make sure to use a reputable type of calcium
supplement such as the T-Rex I mentioned above which is almost like a complete diet of calcium and vitamins...If you don't want to use that Rep-Cal makes good products for calcium and mutivitamins.....OH just make sure you use the ZOOMED can o' crix and not the FLUKERS!!!!

you buy live crickets by the 1,000, gut load them before freezng them. You can thaw them out as you need them and feed em on top of salad.

Is that really okay to do???? How do you freeze them? In a bag, box....I'd like to try that!!!!

I was under the impression that freezing them distroys certain vitamins and nutrients that they have, also that they tend to mush in the thawing process but I have never tried it myself so I can't say for sure.

freezing is not the same as freeze dried. I am not a nutritionist so I dont know for sure but I would tend to believe freezing does destroy some nutritional value.
