deworming help please?

ladiecroc Jul 13, 2004 02:58 PM

My gator has worms and I need some info on deworming her. I have no local vets and the local pet stores have no info. I was told that dog dewormer will work, but I am skeptical on that. mataaman please don't post here, you are a waste of space!

Thanks for all the help in this matter.

Michael

Except in rare cases worming crocodilians isn't needed. Unless your animal is having worm related problems I wouldn't worry about it. If you chose to do it anyway panacur "the dog stuff" works fine in moderate amounts.

i am not an expert, but do know some people that would claim to be, as far as snakes go. when my friends get a shipment of snakes in they inject a mouse with panacur and then feed it to the infected animal, maybe this would work for you. Good luck

Hi,

Rather than giving you a lengthy reply I would encourage you to pick up my book 'The Ultimate Guide to Crocodilians in Captivity' it has a section included on theworming procedure of the forums own Kerry Swan who has dewormed many the crocodilian.

You can pick it up at amazon or email me directly for a copy. It will give you the procedure to follow.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
CD
