I just got back from the vet, and after xrays and fecal floats the vet (who was rather uppity to me btw) concluded tthat my iggy is jam packed full of unformed eggs. I saw the xray and man, no wonder she hasnt been eating!!! She is full of em!! She doesnt have parasites either, and her bones and organs all look fine. Her heart is fine too! and her mouth is a good color! I am so happy i could dance! no cancer, no forigen blockages!! . It cost me my ENTIRE next week's paycheck...(a whopping $200) but i think that it is worth it to know that my girlie is ok.
i feel a bit snubbed tho. I really didnt get a chance to ask many questions. I think the vet expected someone who really had no clue about iguanas and ask "so, why CANT i feed her only cat food?": im sure she gets that alot. But i dont know if i should continue syringe feeding her, or if she will reabsorb the eggs, or anything like that. I just got critisized on having her free roaming (i have no choice she would really hurt herself otherwise. Whe has never been kept in a cage...ever) and also that it wasnt humid enough in her room. ugh.
ANY WAY thanks to all who helped me through this ordeal...it took more than a vet visit to get me through this. It took alot of counciling and reassurance. ESPECIALLY this week. So thank you all so much for being there and helping out. If i could invite you all over for coffee i totally would. BUT i think i will just post as man y pics as i can. Thanks again!
