Turkey neck/ gular pouch

halsbandleguaan Jul 13, 2004 04:15 PM

Do I understand that the gular of my male is confusing everyone??

It was also the first time that I see something with collareds, and he is also the last one who has it so extreemly.

I can tell you that his health was verry normal.
Also his weight was normal too (55-60 gram)
His activety was even verry high.
He also get nothing special to eat then the other collareds.

I think has something more to do with a gen.
I'm sure it was a hormonual way of mating/impresion gular.
It only came before the mating season and dissapear after it.

I think they saw your pic and it just re-hashed an old topic.

We had talked about it awhile back. I had a female a few years ago that also had it. She does not know.

I agree sometimes it can be seen as larger, then it will not be seen again.

I also agree, when any of mine do have it, they seem to be fine. All are fed the same thing. Some are not fat.

Just interesting!

Oke Eve,

Thanks for your reaction.

I hope to come to America some thime.
It's difficult the get realy nice collareds here.
I tried to getting them with transport on plane, but it won't work.
Now I have some yellowheads from Robert Schumacher (Will knows him). But thas always captive breed.

One day, some time I hope to. But also then I need papers to transport them.

Maybe, who knows next year.

Greetings Peter

I have to answer an email from my friend Robert.
I also have his incredibly wonder book, he did an awesome job with it, I treasure it. I cant read it, but I treasure it for the pictures, and the writer!

Anyway I'm sure it is difficult to get collareds there, I here that alot, from many people I speak with. Its a shame as they are a spectacular little lizard.

I wish you well when you come here, US for your visit, I cwertainly hope you enjoy your stay !

Take care Peter,

Here in Denmark the pet stores get imported collareds a couple of times every year, so it is "easy" to get new blood to the breeding groups. But unfortunately the ones in the pet trades are often WC.

So Peter if you are interested in some of them, Denmark is closer to you than America.....
