That is a beautiful animal. Can you give an exact description as to how it is cared for and how old is it. The growth on it is flawless.

He is 5 years old. We have not had him all his life, but we keep him in a wooden vivarium and glass doors. We feed hima big platefull of various vegetables everyday and he always has fresh water. We also let him go in the rabbit run and walk around the rooms. He is very adventurous. What do you mean by the growth on him being flawless?

How long has it been in your care? If you've had it for a few years can you be a little more specific about the diet, temperatures at which it is kept...
Most tortoises are prone to some form of what they call pyramiding (the shell growing less then smooth). I'm noticing many new keepers raising these beautiful animals and they are doing 'nothing special'. This is just an interest of mine.

Well we have had him from around christmas time, we don't feed him alot of iceburg lettuce and give him mixed vegetables that have already been prepared by a shop. We also don't give him fruits that often. Only as a treat. The temperature in his cage is in the mid 80s and he has UV lighting all the time. Apart from that I can say that we are doing nothing special. Maybe his previous owners did and that got him on a good growth rate. We will have to see as he gets older.

In that case, if you can do it get the EXACT instructions on how that tortoise was kept in the past and follow that as close as you can if you haven't seen any noticable growth since in your care.

Do you know how much it's grown since you've had it? If you've had any noticable growth, keep doing what you are doing.
