More pics of hatchlings.....Is this a motley???????????

Spardawolf Jul 13, 2004 05:28 PM

The parents are pastel mot X anery she was supposed to be het ghost, but I believe she was het motley. I got 6 hatchlings and only 2 have checkered bellies. (no ghosts) I like this one the best, and if it is a female I plan on keeping it. What do you all think?

The parents are okeetee X sunglow motley. At least I think so. She laid her eggs 2 weeks before she was due. I only put her with the male, because she was sold to me as a male, and I wanted to see if that was right. (obviously it wasn't) I am thinking that she may have been bred when I got her. So far from her I have 4 amels and 5 okeetees/normals. She also double-clutched and I have 5 more good eggs incubating.
Let me know what you guys think.

This is one of the amels. So far both of the amels that have emerged from the eggs are fiesty little ones. They must have bit me 6 or 7 times while transferring them to their boxes. Then they constantly strike at the sides of the box if anyone is is the room. I hope this means that they will be good eaters.

But it is tough to tell from a dorsal view alone. If that animal has a clear belly (free from checkering), then I'd say you have a motley, and your female is obviously het for that trait.

Congrats on the babies!
