Curious to hear from anyone who has been successfully maintaning any of these to the point that they are producing in captivaty.

I've acquired 1:2 LTC leioheterdon geayi (speckled mad hogs) over the past couple of years.Two are now up to a respectable weight, acclimated and have established feed/shed patterns. My hope is to breed them next season if all goes well. My male has been a tough one to acclimate, so I want to get as much body weight on him as possible (with his fast metabolism) before introducing him to the girls.

Every so often there are posts regarding successful breeding, but for some reason I associate them with giant hogs. You might try searching the archives foran an swer to your question. Hopefully I will have some info in the next year as well. Is there any one particular malagasy hognose that you are interested in?

Actually I am interested in all 3 types from the Island. I have been working with NA hognose for quite sometime now. Lately I have been considering working with many of the others types available from areas outside of the US.

Not much info out there (at least that I have so far come across) dealing with any of these from Madagascar detailing captive propagation of them.

I have become SO interested in Hognose during the past 2 seasons I have at times contemplated only working with them. Reality ALWAYS snaps in though saving me from all the extra work that may entail getting hatclings to feed.
