Concerned question...

ok, so im going on vacation in three weeks and my friend agreed to watch my BD for me (he has a leopard gecko, so i trust him to take care of my reptile), but my 55 gallon tank is too big to take to his house, so i was wondering if my 10 gallon tank was too small for my 12 inch beardie to live in for a quick week???

For only a week I would do it if I had to. Not with a beardie any bigger than that though. If you're going to be traveling a lot in the future, you might want to consider buying a repttarium. It's a mesh screen cage with a pvc pipe frame. It's very light and easy to store and transport. I just store the pipes for mine inside the mesh cover when they aren't in use. Every once in a while I see used ones up on ebay, so you might want to keep your eyes out for one. If you washed it with bleach before using it would be fine. Of course, they aren't very expensive to begin with, so buying one new wouldn't set you back much.
If you don't expect to be traveling much, I have just typed that out for nothing. Maybe not, because they also work nicely as a cage for letting your dragon go out in the sun.

way to small, if you must, go to home depot and buy a rubbermaid or stelite tub for $10-$15. something about 96qt or so.

just keep in mind the change in cage and location may put him off food for a while and then changing back again is stressfull to them.

I vote for your idea. That sounds way better than putting the dragon into a small tank for a week. Especially if you don't have time to wait for a reptarium to come. I still like them if you're going to be travelling more often. They just pack up much smaller than a container. For now, go with this idea and head out to the store and spend a few bucks on a container.

I put together a "cat carrier" with carpet and a half-log to hide in, but this is only for nighttime. As far as vacationing, I look for pet-friendly places to stay in, and let him stay with me almost 24-7. I also keep a small spray bottle, food dish, and freeze-dried and live prey and a green salad to keep him in food.
