Popes vipers - an interesting feeding problem

boehmei Jul 14, 2004 08:49 AM

To follow on from the last thread, I have 7 female Popes, almost adult, and I love them more than anything!

But here is the problem. They are wild caught. When I got them home they started feeding on mice like absolute monsters. But then, 6 months down the line a few of them jst seemed to loose their appetite. The change in the snakes' 'outlook on life' essentially just changed completely. A snake that would rush out of the cage everytime I opened it looking for food now just sits on its branch and shrinks away when I offer food. I have dewormed them, but I am still not getting a good response.

Any suggestions?

What is your setup?

Sometimes these snakes will fast for a couple of months. It might just be that. Is the body weight good?
