He ate at least!

I'm takeing my little tegu into the vet tomarrow for what I'm pretty sure now is a case of scale rot. (I feel horible about this...didn't even notice it till it was pretty bad.) He hasn't been eating very well at all for a few weeks. Today while picking up some goldfish for my turtles I picked up a dozen large for my tegu. At first he had no clue what they were for. So I pick him up...grabbed a goldfish...bonked him on the nose till he got mad and opened his mouth then put it in his mouth...he chomped down...then realized what it was and SCARFED it...then I offered him another one (I didn't think he'ld eat a second they were pretty big) and he SCARFED that one too!! So I feel better that he's eating but I still have to get the scale rot taken care of.

Haha, my tegu did the same thing when I offered him fish for the first time! But I've heard that they arent very nutritious? My tegu loved them anyway. Good luck with the scale rot, Im sure he'll be fine!

But something has got to be better then nothing. He used to GOBBLE dusted pinkies (yep...I dusted them...) and superworms and babyfood like there was no tomarrow...

Then he kinda tapered off...then kinda stopped feeding for a while. I'm sure now that it's because of the scale rot (that's got to hurt like hell, I'm just sorry I didn't see it sooner). I was really worried about him, I feel better now that he's eating, I just hope all goes well at the vet tomarrow and I get things straightened out with the poor little guy and get him on the road to recovery.

But if he wants to eat fish for a few days I'm all for that till he gets to feeling a little better.
