i guess its hard to say whether over or under supplementation is worse. i'd appreciate more feedback from the more experienced keepers. i dust lightly with calcium twice a week, and the salad gets a daily light dusting of multivitamin, although the consumption of salad isnt too great so there's no danger of overdose there!

i use the jurrasipet stuff;
jurrasi-cal - phosphorous free, vit D3 free, calcium carbonate
jurrasi-vite - vits A, D3, E at 100:10:1 (14 vitamins & 17 trace minerals)

I think this is a good reason not to supplement with d3 if you use UVB lights just to be "better safe than sorry". My opinion is if the animal has the ability to regulate any of it's own nutrient levels don't muck with those nutrients!! If you have to muck with them then do one or the other but not both. Either use UVB and don't supplement with d3 or don't use UVB and do supplement with d3. Of course with the latter I think you're taking somewhat of a gamble.

As far as the amount of calcium supp. I don't know but I get the feeling if you have an adult beardie and you're feeding it a good balance of veggies and greens you should rarely use any supplements. Like maybe once a month or so.

Man, it's such a fine line, that makes it so hard to know what to do!

I wonder how it applies to the T-Rex Dragon Dust? I just started using those again.

One note, chams are much more sensitive. They actually pretty much require uvb, and are known to have issues with too much supplementation easily. they are a weird creature, cool but can be tough.
