Michigan snakes

I am planning a trip to Michigan to visit family and thought I might like to go herping a couple times. I looked through my Peterson's field guide and was wondering what snakes are particularly coveted in the Higgin's lake area or all of Michigan for that matter.

MICHIGAN SNAKES,a field guide and pocket reference is available thru MSU extension offices.i found mine used on half.com,a service of ebay,for only $5 or so.
