i know some of you herpers are from utah and i am wondering wheres a good place to go herping that you find other snakes other than wandering grt's

Is there any other type of garter around salt lake exept the wandering garter snake. Where could i find bull/gopher snakes.

See my reply to your other post below.
Also gopher snakes are probably the second most common snake in the state. They are most easily found by roadcruising.
I have seen at least 50 gopher snakes this year. A large amount of those were DOR's (Dead on road) however.

When the temperature reaches 90 degrees again try taking a cruise out away from the city on some back roads after the sun goes down. You will find gopher snakes and other snakes will be streached out accross the road thermoregulating on the warm road.

the great basin gophers are all ovetr the valley, you will also find western yellow bellied racers in the canyons, very fast aggressive snakes, and lots of great basin rattlers! Occasionally yoiu can find ruber boas, but they are hard to find, found my first one, unfortunately was dead on the road just into Big Cottonwood Canyon... I have caught night snakes and striped whipsnakes in Wendover when I lived out there.
