ParaZap Question

Angel-girl Jun 21, 2003 04:40 PM

I ordered some Parazap and received it today 6/21/03, however there were no instructions on how to mix it, or how to administer. I know you are suppose to make a tea from it but I do not know how much water or tea to use. I also need to know how much to give to my dragons. They weigh 50 grams to 14 grams. I want to start using it asap, so any assistance will help. Thanks Angel-girl

I beleive it's 1 rounded tea spoon to 2/3 of water. Bring it to a boil and adminster with an eye dropper or neddless syringe. I never gave it to them in a tea. I use it for prevention of parasites which is sprinkled on the salad or live food for 5 days a month. Parazap.com gives full instructions.

The original dose was 1/8 tsp to 2/3 C. water.

I think now it has been changed to 1/4tsp. to 2/3 C. water
You can cut that amount in half if you don't want to make that much.
Boil the water, then turn off burner. Add the Parazap and let it steep in the water.
I just wait until the water cools a bit and then pour it through a coffee filter, into a small tupperware container.

Thank god it is harmless. I would have been over doseing them. Is that right what they say that it is harmless, and safe? Can too much hurt them? I've followed the instructions on the site once or twice. It says one rounded tea spoon to 2/3cups water boil then seperate the liquid from the solid and give 3cc to an adult? Thanks for the info that the dosing changed.

Christyj Jun 21, 2003 07:16 PM

He said he has changed it to a tsp.
I guess some peoples dragons were taking two weeks to rid their dragons of parasites, while others took 3 days with the 1/4 tsp. dose.
Since his instructions are to give it for one week, he decided to up the dose to ensure they are gone.
I haven't bought any with the new directions, so I wasn't aware of the change.
Sorry if I scared you..

Thanks. Got scared I told someone the wrong dose. Would have died if something was to happen to it. lol. It's one thing to make a mistake yourself, but to give some one the wrong info and something bad happened to them is worse.

Yeah, for real..I know the feeling, cuz i just told you wrong..lol
Bad Val!! It's his fault!! Yeah that's it, he should tell me these things...lol

Hey Christy, I guess someone was reading my mind because I do was going to post a message in regards to Parazap doses (I didn't get any instructions either). My questions are: 1)If you are suppose to give 3cc to adult, how much do you give to a baby who about 2-3 months old and how long is the tea good for?, can I put the tea in a plastic water bottle at room temp without it losing its potent?. Someone mentioned about putting a lil bit on the veggies, can I dust my crickets with parazap before feeding them to my beardies?
By the way Christy, Jedi and Buttercup are really enjoying the hammocks and they thank you.

Val told me to give them as much as they will drink when they have parasites. A 3 mo old, maybe 1cc, twice a day.
Whenever they actually have parasites, make the tea.
Yes, you can dust crix and veggies when you are using it as a preventative. One week out of the month.
Sometimes, I just soak their pellets in the tea.
The tea is good for 24 hrs, I refrigerate mine.

**Glad your beardies like their hammocks, that's always good to hear

I kinda of use this rule of thumb for the doses as not everyone has a scale......and mind you these are the minimums....more is better in this case with parazap.....

1 cc two times per day for up to 3 month olds
2 cc's two times per day for 4-8 month olds
3 cc's two times per day for over 8 month olds

of course if you happen to have an adult sized 5-6 month old etc.....more is better again......
