Hi there:
Recently at my local reptile store, I needed to buy a setup and a new day gecko, but everyone in the reptile department was busy. So I went and got help from someone in the fish department. I would like to point out that I am not very happy with the care the animals recieve at this store, and I spotted a very small collared lizard running around at one point.
At the counter, the man said "You won't believe all of the geckos you find around here." I smiled. The only lizard native to my area is the five-lined skink. Two other workers at the desk nodded excitedly. "When you come in in the morning, before we open" he said, "this whole side of the building is covered with them. All different kinds." My eyes lit up.
Yes, I will be driving way out there very early in the morning- and bringing my deli cups with me. Obviously whatever exotic expensive lizards these were had escpaed from there inadequate living conditions. I may keep some species. I may also give some to the reptile shelter, or see if my responsibe reptile-keeping friends want any "leftovers."
