id say a 40 gallon or larger is best
a 55 gal breeder is the minimum size required for a single dragon, but they'll be much happier in a 75 gal tank.
i'm sorry herps, this is not personal, but where are you getting your information from? tonight you've given two incorrect posts on calci sand and tank size. i just want to make sure that you're doing everything right for the sake of your own animal

I agree with the other item, the calci sand, but I've read for about a year the accepted size for one dragon is a 40 gallon breeder.

40 gallon breeders are fine for one dragon. I have heard this many, many times also, and have a 40 gallon breeder with an adult dragon in it. He is actually much happier in this than the custom enclosure I made especially for him that is about 110 gallons (I made it from a dresser). Anyways, my female loves the larger tank that she took over from him. I believe it depends on your dragon.
I would have to say that a 40 breeder is fine for one dragon. They are a little shorter but they have made up for it with extra floor space. (which is what they need)
To be honest I have never heard of a 55 "breeder". (I could be wrong on this, I haven't been looking at "tanks" for a while now) Where do you get such a tank?
Maybe they would be happier in a 75 but guess what,,, they would be even happier in a Huge Zoo exhibit but not everyone can provide such things.
"misinformation" can be some what in the eye of the beholder.
I do agree whit the "NO" calci sand issue though.
Here is a pic of a 40 breeder. That branch is a good size one & that is a laying bin inside. That is pleanty of room for one dragon.

my local repitle store (snakes at sunset - beardiedragon you may know it) has them. its either 50 or 55 - its basically the same footprint as a 75 but it has less height.

Sorry, that's the first I've heard of them. Are they custom made or manufactured by a Co? If given the option, I would go for that size over the 40 breeder but available space and funds also play a roll.
I hope you didn't take the above post wrong,,, I'm sure they would much prefer bigger cages, or better yet, freedom but that's a whole other can of worms. lol
Peace.

they're made by a regular aquarium company (can't recall the name off-hand) but because they are semi-custom (basically a chopped 75 gal) for reptile use only they are the same price as the 75 so thats what i bought. the nice thing about them is you can stack 2 or 3 on shelves without it towering over you.
no offense was taken dont worry, i'd always heard from this post and bearded-dragons that the 40 gal was absolute min for small adults, and 55 was much better. either way we all agree bigger is better.
