fat tails

mblons Jul 16, 2004 12:25 AM

I just got a 30 gallon for my pair of adult fattail geckos (1.1) and for heating I was thinking of overhead heat with piece of wood or slate under heat for belly heat. What size tupperware or what do people use for humidity box? I have been using undertank heating but would like to use dome and light again. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks for help.- Mark

I have never used a light for my FT's b/c it is not necessary. I use a UTH for both my 20gal longs. I have 1 male and 2 females in one and 1 male waiting for his mate (who is quarantined) in the other. I have the hide half over the UTH and the humid hide also over the UTH half way. The humid hide has vermiculite and is very very moist. It is made of tupperware that has a hole drilled into it. I will attach a pic of my humid hide and hide to show them. I also have a water dish of course. I feed calcium dusted crickets 2x's a week. You should try not to feed so many that there are any left to munch on your gecko. My brother just lost his Uromastx to crickets.
This is a pic of Larry and Lisa hanging out.
