Anyone going to White Plains? ....more.....

carl3 Jul 16, 2004 12:45 AM

I was curious if anyone is going (buying/selling) to White Plains. I find that some shows are hit-n-miss with what I'm looking for, especially during different times in the breeding season. I was thinking of going but wanted some thoughts as to whether or not much will be there (in the way of corns)?????

I'm 50/50 on going but its a distance thing, plus the cost of traveling (gas/tolls) which would probably equal shipping charges. However, its sometimes nice to handpick your corns. I find that that as I get more experienced in corns, the more specific I have become in what I'm looking for in certain morphs.

ps...congrats to those of you who had successful hatchings this past week. Meanwhile...I was on vacation and RUINED my Digital Camera in the Carribbean Sea so it will be awhile before I get to post pics of any snakes! In the meantime...I have some catching up to do with drooling over all the pics posted.lol.

You lost all those pics you snapped of scantily clad women?Shame on you Jason...

surprisingly...I managed to save the memory card....i tested it out with another camera that takes the same card....so all my pics are okay...I just can't access them. Apparantly, I needed something called an 'underwater' camera for snorkling. j/k ~ lol

As far as white plains...I wonder if the potentially new antiherp law will cause those who live in ny to sell some snakes for less (wishful thinking).....this may very well be the last ny herp show if that new law passes (unless it was already shot down while I was away)....either that or no one will go for fear that the show will be shutdown.? OR...I might get stuck with buying snakes that are problem feeders since most breeders have just hatched out corns this month so I doubt many are 'established' feeders yet (more likely..and for that reason I thought maybe I shouldn't go and get myself into more trouble.lol).

I would rather pay more for a juvie that has some length and girth than get one that has fed once, maybe.Heck I really enjoy my new male bairds he is 4 years old, eats, and doesnt mind being held at all. It's like all your problems are solved when you get an older snake.
