Grip Liner as substrate?

zhenchok Jul 16, 2004 01:58 AM

Does anyone have any feedback on this product? I bought some black ultra grip liner and I just love the way the stuff looks and it's really easy to wash it. Only problem is that it has a distinctive smell to it. I'm worried that it might be toxic to my snakes. I decided to try and use it on just one of my setups. Any feedback on the stuff? Thanks, Dave.

One of the new things going on in the Bearded Dragon substrate realm is nonadhesive shelf liner which seems to be working out very well for a lot of us. It is super easy to spot clean and is durable enough to wash and use over and over again. I guess with the grip liner I would think it would be very difficult to spot clean. The waste is going to go in between the holes and you have to replace the whole thing every time the snake soils it. I agree the smell is kinda strong as well. The Duckbrand shelf liner we use for beardies has a slight smell but it usually disappears after a few days of use. The grip liner I have at home has a much stronger smell which doesn't seem to go away.
