Keeping of "hots" in Texas

august9 Jul 16, 2004 10:41 AM

I did some checking today to see what would be required to keep hots in Denton County Texas. I checked with Texas Wildlife and they mentioned that I would only be required to have a hunting permit to capture native snakes in Texas. However, they referred me to the County Clerk's Office and they told me they were unaware of any ordinances against the keeping of dangerous reptiles. They referred me to the City of Corinth and I was told that I could not keep any dangerous animal within the city.

Are most cities within Texas this strict with their ordinances and is there any way around this?

Each city & county is diff. Most like Dallas within city limits do not allow it.
