To all you Auriculatus breeders.....

Ciliatus_guy May 14, 2003 10:43 AM

My question is simple. I just had my 2 year old Auric lay her first clutch. In Ciliatus the first eggs usually don't make it. Is this true for auriculatus? Also about how many days will she take between clutches? Thanks in advance!

Intervals between clutches for aurics are essentially the same as cresties, between 30-40 days. I have never had infertile clutches with my Rhacs myself, but it can and does happen. So nothing to worry about. Try leaving a dish of calcium (I like bone meal) in the cage 24/7 and see if it helps. I primarily use it just during the breeding season with good results. Although others like Tim Tytle leave it in year round I believe. Best of luck.
