Has anyone encountered this before:
My hypotang breeder appeared to have a violent seizure (head held straight up and tail beating against ground) for about 15 seconds and then died. She was about 1.5 years old otherwise in awesome health. She appeared to be gravid as well, but laid her last clutch about 3 weeks ago.
Sound to me like sever MBD. Those are all signs my vet said happens in sever cases. Being gravid probably just sucked the last bit of calcium out of her. What calcium supplament do you use? Does it have D3 in it or do you have a UVB light?
When my leo had MBD he appeared otherwise healthy besides slowing eating habbits down completely. After I started treatment he had the seizures in his tail. You could take her to a vet to find out the cause.
I'm sorry for your loss. Hopefully you can find out what happened and it wont affect your other leos.
