is dark dark red on gray background normal offspring?...

h0mersimps0n Jun 21, 2003 05:51 PM

for my okeetee x okeetee normals?

I know babies do a lot of color changing in their early months but these guys all clearly are gray back with dark red saddles. Will I completely lose the gray?

I will post pics very soon!

thanks

This is dad (mom is exactly same color/pattern:

This is my girlfriend holding the BORN TODAY hatchlings:

Whats the deal with that gray background is that normal or should I get excited that these guys might be something other than their parents?

too soon to tell? ??

thanks everyone

Yep, that's about normal color on the hatchlings. It threw me for a loop the first time I bred my corns, too. The colors will begin to turn once they're about a year old or so.

That's precisely what my 3 normals het amel look like and it confused me too!! LOL! One just shed for the first time and I noticed that the white background is more orange already.

There is a lot of change in color from hatchling to adult.

I'd say those hatchlings will look very much like the parents when they mature.
