Nicaraguan boas changing color

MrLizard Jul 16, 2004 04:23 PM

I know Hog Island snakes can change their color from day to
night, but I have never heard of nicaraguan boas doing the same
thing. I have a male and female I purchased a couple of
months ago and one likes to change his color. He goes from
very dark chocolate color to almost a pure light silver.
I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is a common
trait of this species? I can post pics if anyone wants to see them, although i will need a couple days to post them.

Absolutely common, I have some that change to tmperature when cool they darken up when warm they lighten up like a chameleon. Most Central American boas I own do that, it makes sense to be able to adapt to regulate comfortable temps.
