I am here...I think everyone else is as well since I have never heard of anyone being killed by their anaconda. P. molurus, yes. P. reticulus, pretty sure. E. murinus, dont think so. But in response to renee and the person trying to keep anacondas from being added to the list. Do you think more stupid people like the way too many burmese owners will respond to the green anaconda being excluded from the list, thus getting more as pets, thus more morons killed by big snakes they are not aware of how to keep....or do I just think that way.

I do not think they should be against laws or even needed permit for. Dumb people are going to die in dumb ways anyway...if it is by snake then its a good thing it is big enough to at least eat them so something gets to continue life.

I am here. I have never heard of a case a keeper killed. That doesn't mean that the potential is not there however. As some other posts have said stupid people will get hurt doing stupid things.

Yea, I'm still here. I don't think my conda can kill me. She's just a baby at around 18-22". Steven

I have never heard of a case where a captive anaconda has caused a fatality. I believe the lack of occurrence to be strictly a correlation between numbers of large murinus in captivity as compared to other large python species. The number of true 15 feet or larger anacondas in private collections and zoos, is extremely small, probably well under 50 worldwide. There have been a very small number of reports of fatalities from wild anacondas in South America, but I don't believe any of them have been substantiated beyond a doubt. However, I'm sure it has probably occurred sometime in history.
