Slow-Mo eating

A.C.3 Jun 21, 2003 06:53 PM

My female who is about 6 months old is eating in slow motion sometimes. She will see a cricket and very slowly bite it, I'm surprised the cricket doesn't just jump away. Other times she will bite at a normal speed. Why is she doing this??

mine sometimes when eating mealworm or crickets does the same thing. its because if the prey isnt moving the gecko may think it is dead so she will go in for a closer look to make sure its alive. then she will pick it up slowly to feel if its alive or not and eat it if it is! hope this helps!

Thanks a lot. I was getting really worried because my other gecko has never done it before and I never heard of it either.

Here's my male eating a wax worm...
