How high can the ground temp get?

elliotisme Jun 21, 2003 07:12 PM

Hey! Just a quick temp question- I know the air is supposed to be around 88, but what about the ground-what temp will start burning a gecko? I set up my enclosure (I get the gecko on tues.) and the bottom read around 108. To me, I think that would be too hot.

Also-what black lights are bad for the gecko's eyes? I read somewhere about that in this forum, but now I can't find it.

Thank you!!

85 is the preferred temperature. it can vary from about 80 to 90 though!

90 is actaully the best for the hot side, the cool side should be around 80-85.
