Big male water monitor

Here is his girl
Here is the new girl she is only 2 and just laid her second clutch. If only she was bigger she is to small for the big male. So all were infertile of course.

Here we have my female flavi cross the male can also be seen he is shedding. You can also see she is cycling.

My big waters are both over 8 years of age. Both of them are around 6 foot or so, not sure on wieght but they are big.

The big female is a burmese salvator and the male is mainland asia.

Thanks

It's been awhile since I posted any of them. Since I last posted my male has decided to bite my females tail. This was during feeding.

Oh and yes it was my nice bright yellow female too she is no longer flawless. But she still looks awesome to me none the less.

I love those waters. and of course i am a big fan of that monitor toward the bottom of the page, they are a kick in the pants.

do you keep yours outside all year?

i am thinking about building outdoor cages up here in oregon. like half sheltered, half open (with wire of course). we have the humidity for it, all i would need was a shelter in there with strong lights.

It's too bad more people do not have pictures of bigger older waters to post as well. I enjoy seeing them as much if not more so then seeing all the new babies posted.

I think it shows alot of the people if they have dedicated that much time into there animals.

I did have some outside cages but tore them all down. I will be re-building soon. Right now everyone is in the indoor cage haha if I can call it that. It is a huge back porch. It's attached to the back of my house. Has a full roof and partial walls about 2 foot up on all sides. It then has huge screened windows all the way around it. I covered these in wire it works well for me. In the summer they can all have open air and enjoy the florida weather. It faces south so the sun shines right in on them.

I wouldnt recommend my cage setups to everyone. But if your area is like mine and humid it works fine. When I lived in IL. I had to seal everything and have vents on the sides low to the ground in my cages.

Watch for more pictures soon

I have 2.2 here now they are such awesome monitors. I have a 5 year old male, 3 year old male, 2 year old female, and a 5 month old female.

I have seen a few males around.

I'll take some pictures of mine and post them for you to check out.
