Hey all...

2 days ago I became the owner of an adult Sudan plated lizard - the people that owned him for 2 years were giving him away because the daughter lost interest and the mother didn't want to take care of it anymore. (however, he seems to be in great shape, and the cage and accessories I got with it are all good - they did take pretty good care of it) He/she (is there a way to tell?) is a little spooky, but pretty good once he/she is out of the cage. Yesterday I gave it some salad (bok choy, kale, tomato, and a little bit of banana), I'm not sure if it ate any though (I know it's probably not settled enough to eat yet, but figured I should make it available). Today I put in some crickets, some mealworms, and some grated carrot.

Anyway, I know sudan plateds are omnivores - but I was wondering what ratio of animal food to fruits/veggies I should be giving it... more 'meat' or more veggies?

Also, how much of the 'meat' portion of the diet can mice be? I have ready access to all sizes of live and frozen mice (raise them for my snakes) so it would be very convienient if I could use mostly mice, and then crickets/mealworms just once a week or so.... especially since the pet store here only gets mealies occasionally, and the lizard apparently doesn't eat crickets well anymore (the previous owners did say it's been awhile since they tried though).

Thanks for any help,
Dawn
