what kind of frog is this? pic

zoecat6 Jul 17, 2004 06:41 PM

I got a couple of these frogs from my local petstore for free today, they said they come in with the feeder fish. What kind of frog is this, how big will it get, and what does it prefer to eat.

I might be able to help you if you can tell me what state you live in and if you know if the petstore gets their feederfish locally or not.

I'm no expert but maybe it's a Leopard frog?

Looks like a wood frog, we have them around here. You can prolly find a care sheet at www.allaboutfrogs.com

That is definatly a wood frog, i just raised a bunch from eggs this season. I let em go as soon as they morphed but i would feed it insects that are about the length of the distance between the eyes. Where do you live at? they do need to hibernate and would probably do better in the wild if u live within their natural range.
