Poll: White melamine or stained wood?

lucille Jul 17, 2004 07:36 PM

I am in the process of making my own cages and stained and coated the wood with polyurethane. I think it looks too dark, and I may want to just put a melamine backing and change it over to a light color.
Which do y'all prefer:
1)Stained wood
2)Melamine white
3)Other, like the vision gray?

I think a lot of this is species specific. However, I like stained/sealed plywood for many applications. If I were more into large scale breeding I probably would have more of an interest in the easy to clean plastic cages.

The only time I use melamine anymore is for racks.

Sorry to hear your plywood cage came out too dark. What type of plywood did you use?

Stained wood is a great looking thing if the enclosure is going to be in a frequently used room.
