Hey guys/gals I am have a sub adult green ig if not an adult green ig that has seemed to like the bottom of his cage more than normal...my house gets hot so i don't know if its the heat or w/e but he loves to eat and drink still and will take any advantage to get out of his cage if he can (when i open the door he wants to roam). I also noticed he has lost some weight don't know what from considering he loves to eat but he has gotten skinnier...I will be taking him to the vet sometime this week or next week (depending on when they can get me in) to see whats wrong with him but until then do any of you have an idea as to what might be wrong?

We need more info. How big is the iguana? How big is the enclosure? What kind of temperatures do you maintain in the enclosure? (Basking spot should be 95F or so during the day, 75-80 at night; if he stays in the bottom, it could be the interior is getting too hot, at least in his basking area.) Do you keep the interior clean?

One possibility is low humidity. The clue is in the fact that he still drinks, but in my experience iguanas generally don't "drink" but rather take in moisture through their food.
