pacman frogs

ch23119 Jul 18, 2004 12:21 AM

how can u tell the difference between a cranwell's horned frog and an ornate horned frog? I have a cranwell's and they are cool but I love the color of the ornates. So I want to get a ornate and the local pet store has them called green pacman frogs. They are smaller and I am not sure how to tell the difference when they are small.

Well, Cranwellis or Cranwells Hornedfrog has a more "pointy" head than the Ornatas. They also have bigger horns on top of their eyes.
Cranwellis more often come in a albino morph aswell.

You can also feel the difference and see the difference on their skin. Green pacmans have a lot smoother skin than ornates. Ornates have a lot more bumps on their skin than greens do. If you look really close at an ornate it looks like they have little tiny spikes on them. Ornates also have red coloring on them, from what I've seen. I haven't seen any greens with red coloring. I have some ornates that are about 90% red, it got a little duller over the last few months, but still looks cool.
