I think it's been over a year since I posted some pics of this boy.
He is the bestest snake in the world.
My first retic, a silver produced by Mark Kennedy. Easily 14 feet and growwwwing....
Indoor Pics

Outdoor Pics-
I take him out in a rubbermaid. Once out I remove the lid and let him come out on his own...
(He has a bit of a dry patch on his face-from an injury when he escaped out of his cage one night--*sigh* one night his stomach stays empty and he feels the need to go find his own food.... spoiled retic!!! But in 2 sheds it's healed... this was right after his last shed and it's a bit dry--but completely healed and won't show any scars!
yay... I was worried about that)

It doesn't take him long to start to venture out...

And exploring he goes...

In the sun--trying to capture irradesence with a crappy camera...

A prowl-ing we will go...
One thing I noticed that I think so so cool, is when I take him out for pics, as soon as he starts to wander around the birds in the neighborhood begin to notice. They flock to the trees in my back yard and squawk and carry on to alert all the other birdies that there's a monster on the prowl....

I think it's sooo cool...

And last but not least.
These pics show his actual color--and one thing I love is how they capture his eyes. When we are outside they seem to GLOW!
His eyes have stayed super orange ever since his hatchling-hood.
I love them...

Anyway...
There you have it.
14 updated pics for my baby... (my very large, baby)
I will tell you this much. I don't have much expierence with retics, like I said this was my first one, but what a one to have!
He is so gentle natured! (not to say, that I totally trust him, because I don't. I've been super catious with him and still am. I never totally trust this biggun, even though he has NEVER given me any reason not to) His feeding responce is strong, but he isn't terrirorial. Very gentle. And honestly, I never handled him a whole lot. Sometimes I read on this forum that people say to hold them a lot to get them used to it.
I never really did hold him a whole lot. Now and then I'll hold him, he's always been fine and calm. I keep him well fed, use hooks to get him out of his cage, 2 foot long grabbers to feed him with, and never take him out when I'm alone. There are times when I want to get him out and he has a bit of an attitude. Puffing up and nudging my hook away as if to say " leave me alone! " and... well, I do.
I get him out when he and I are both read...
And I think because of this he's turned out to be a very rewarding animal to own.
Let me know what you think.
And thanks for lookin!
