If so, until what age? I have 2 hogs on the way in a couple days and might buy another. Randy Turner was kind enough to share with me his method of moving young boas through 2 or 3 progressively larger tubs before putting them in their adult enclosure. The health of the boas is the #1 priority, so I will put them in tubs if aquariums are not recommended, but it would be convenient for me and look really cool to display them in the glass 36"x16"x18" cage in the front room until they are ready for large individual enclosures. I also remember how much the Colombian I had years ago used to like to climb when it was little, so I like the idea of having height enough to give them branches.

I'm thinking of using one large UTH, no overhead light or heat, and a folded up towel/tapistry on the screen top to keep the humidity controlled. Maybe a peice of cardboard or plastic under the towel if necessary to reduce circulation a little more(using sort of cheapo low tech temp/humidity guages.)

Is a thermostat a good idea with a UTH like a cobra mat or something? Is a good UTH supposed to maintain constant temp without a thermostat when the temp changes 15 degrees or so? Any recommendations or other ideas? All advice appreciated, thanks.
