Ball python rack

I have recently built my first rack I used melamine and 41 quart sterilite tubs as I could not find 48 qt sterilite or rubbermaid tubs in Bradenton. Is a 41 qt tub a suitable size or should I use it for another species. The 41 qt is 34.5 x 16.75 x 6

I have seen the 41 qt. Sterilite and I remember it having very tapered walls which made for very little floor area. Probably not ideal for a large female BP. I may have it confused with another product.

As you probably know two boxes can have very similar dimensions but vary quite a bit in floor area due to tapered walls.

But if you've already built the rack just use it for males and smaller females.

If you built it so the boxes slide it width-wise then you can use the smaller boxes in the same tiers. Three of the 12 qts., one 12 qt. and one 28 qt., or just one 41 qt. per tier.

.................. floor space it's appox. 30.5 x 12.5,there's a sharp taper on this tub.i have a rack useing 41,27,and 12qt. tubs as you have mentioned.the floor width on the 41qt. is the same width as a newspaper, handy if you go that route.if you use the formula that states the tub should at least be as long as half the length of the snake then this tub should be good up to a five foot snake.i'm not sure i agree with that formula,i think body girth should be taken into account also.have fun!
