no.... Ive never ever heard of walnut shells being fed to bearded dragons. keep to the basic veggies.

I know you can't feed them that. I was thinking about griding it up so it could be a safer substrate.
No. Still too much risk. Plus they promote fungus and bacteria.
Why not just go with what you know is safe, instead of experimenting? That's the best bet if you ask me.

Sounds like a lot of work for something that is not really a hard thing to find, and can be as easy as newspaper. There are lots of safer alternatives. Why is the crushed walnut so important that you would spend the time to crush it in the blender. I'm sure someone can recommend something safe with the same qualities you look for in the walnut shells. Just my opinion.
