I will never get the chance I think to own a Eastern Indigo. IF fwc is so worried about taking them from the wild. How about as part of a permit from the state they get a micro-chip Snakes. Than during surprise inspections. the snakes can be scanned and varified as the ones you are supposed to have. Thus eliminating the need for illegal capture and captivity of this snake. I know I could get a texas and avoid all this, but you can always dream .

Are eastern indigos illegal to keep in florida? I Live in Washington and am thinking of getting one. I might one day move back home to florida though.

I think you have to be using it for educational purposes. And the permit is very hard. I was told almost impossible

Try totaly impossible....They say a teaching permit is obtainable but the reality is that they do not grant them. Eastern Indigos are illeagal to possess in all states that they occur in. Texas indigos can be kept if you do not live in Texas. That's how it is.
