Scary episode when I was cleaning my frog's tank

CokeOfMan Jul 18, 2004 01:05 PM

Though I'd share this story with everyone for some reason.

The tank was cleaned and the substrate changed and moistened and I had just went to refill his waterdish. When I came back I see my frog on the floor, adventuring!
He had apparently defecated in the box I put him in, and wanted out. I thought the lid was secure, but apparently I was wrong, I've got to secure it better the next time.
Anyway, he hadn't gone far so I could just put him back in the box (The poop was removed) without any difficulties.
Maybe it wasn't THAT scary, but what if he had gone any longer, and I wouldn't have found him.

Here he is, back to safety in his tank. (The water is dirty beceause he was just there, I changed it later)

Wow, good thing you caught him before he had time to really get lost. Those horned frogs can move surprisingly fast, though they move in such little hops. I am always amused by how short their back legs are, but they can hop pretty far (just not too high) when they try!
