what is the diffrence between a homo and a hetro snake
homozygous= has to copies of the same gene:showing the trait
heterozygous= has two differant copies of the the same gene:you can't see the trait, it is hidden.
so are you sayin your AMEL corn would be homo amel but its also hetro anery, meaning it has the capabilites to produce anerys

You will not detect the mutant's presence in a heterozygous individual if the mutant is recessive to the normal version of the gene. You will detect the mutant's presence in a heterozygous individual if the mutant is dominant or codominant to the normal version. The belief that the mutant trait cannot appear in a heterozygous individual came about because all mutants found in corn snakes have been recessive to normal. Sooner or later a dominant mutant will turn up and confuse the h*ll out of people.
There are tens of thousands of gene loci in the genome. It is quite common for an animal to be homozygous at one locus and heterozygous at a different locus. So it is quite possible for a (homozygous) amelanistic snake to be heterozygous for anerythristic.

since I keep mostly corns. For that matter some people have sugested that bloodred may be a codominant trait since you can see signs of the trait even in hets.sometimes.
