In May i posted a message about my wild caught mexican hognose not eating. The advice was priceless, thank you all. Braining a pinky, placing the hog in a deli cup with a pinky, lizard maker drops, and scenting a pinky with a toad did not work. Someone suggested rubbing the face of a live pinky in fish/seafood flavored cat food. It worked! The little guy ate it right out of my hand. In fact, he eats little minnows out of my hand as well. I really dont understand why a hognose in the middle of the desert would have any interest in fish. There were no creeks, ponds, or other sources of water where minnows would be where i caught him. Thus im not sure why he would go for minnows since it seems minnows are not part of his diet in the wild.
