I was just pondering this today as my new female mali, Isis, has some stubborn shed that isn't coming off well. Would it be possible to use a hand lotion (ex. Vaseline Intensive Care hand lotion with Aloe and Vitamin E, non-greasy formula) with rapid absorption into the skin to moisturize the lower skin layer enough for the shed skin to finally come off? I thought I would ask since she is possibly gravid (haven't checked it with a vet yet) and I don't want to stress her out by giving her a soak on her 2nd day. She is eating well, basking often, and poops daily (so far). I'm going to take her to the vet this week for a full physical exam and a fecal. I just want to keep her as calm as possible (since going to the vet will be very stressful in itself).
Any suggestions for stuck shed removal as well as any opinions on the hand lotion idea are welcome.
Thanks
