Question about breeding (please reply)

jason_greggs Jul 18, 2004 07:46 PM

I know - I posted it at the beginning of the month (twice) only one person replied. It's an inquiry - that's all... If you don't agree then please say something... I am coming here to learn too. And because my wife and I are going through it I thought I would ask if it had ever been done with reptiles... Not that I'm wanting to do it, but because I am relating to my own issues. Looking to just get some opinions. Thanks Jay

invetro fertilization (Anyone ?)

Stupid question - I know...

But I had to ask.

Is this something herpers have done before? My wife and I are going through some tough times and probably will have to resort to invetro ourselves. Has anyone ever done this with snakes before? I just wondered about if it has been done and if so...how much did the process cost and did the female become gravid with no problems... if if if ...

Thought I would ask...

Any feedback is greatly appreciated,
Jay

Well, I think the reason nobody responded before was because I don't think it has been done and if so I'm sure it is vary costly and probably not worth the cost considering the outcome, the babies would have to be something so rare that they would pay for the procedure or if it were the last snake of its kind left on earth and they wanted to reproduce it. But to answer the question with a geuss I would say it has not been done at least here in the states maybe in some country in Europe or maybe in some lab in China,(no offense) they just like to work with genetics.
So maybe thats why nobody responded. hope that cleared your question. and as far as you and your wife, I hope it works out for you,
Take care,
