Turtle96 Jul 19, 2004 12:22 AM

I have a mixture of vermuculite and moss. And have a average temp 84 to 85F with humidity around 90. Just was wondering if this sounds good? Please any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated ! FIRST TIME HATCHING BOXT TURTLE EGGS !!

First let me say, good luck! The first 4 times I tried to incubate turtle eggs indoors I had no luck. I did not use a incubator and the variation in temps and humidity just played havoc on the eggs, plus me bothering them didn't help I learned the hard way to put holes in the bottom of the containers so water won't pool up in the tub and make the eggs too wet. Don't place the eggs near high traffic areas as sudden jarring during certain stages may kill the eggs. If you are a serious breeder, the best thing is to use an incubator with accurate temp and humidity gauges so you can adjust the enviroment and then ignore them like the turtle does after laying
