Heating questions....

savvgawd Jul 19, 2004 01:09 AM

Well I finally get my Animal plastics cages on tuesday so I had some questions about heating. I already went ahead and ordered screen holes in the top of the cages but still wanted to know somethings. Does anyone here perfer belly heat over light heating? By that I mean heat tape or build in heat pads for heat all the time in certain spots rather than day time night time schd. Also if you prefer light heat what type of lights do you use(Red heat lamps, normal household bulbs, flood light ect.)~Matt

I personally prefer pro product radiant heat panels over any other heat source. they are easily mounted to the inside roof of the cage and are very safe; even to the touch. belly heat via heat pads and heat tape work fine as long as the substrate isn't too thick AND that the heating device is connected to a quality thermostat to prevent thermal burns.
